Tower Rescue Technician Course

Tower Rescue Technician training prepares emergency responders to safely perform technical rescues on communications towers, utility structures, antennas, industrial towers and other elevated structures, accessing, stabilizing, packaging and evacuating injured or stranded personnel.

Training covers tower climbing and access, fall protection and fall-arrest systems, rope rescue systems, anchor selection and rigging, raising and lowering, litter management, edge transitions, suspension trauma considerations, equipment inspection and rescue-team communications.

Technicians learn to evaluate tower-specific hazards, select appropriate rescue systems and work as a coordinated team, with an emphasis on personal and team safety, redundant systems, risk management and compliance with applicable safety standards and agency procedures.
